Invisalign®: A Comfortable and Convenient Alternative to Braces
Get a straighter smile with discreet, clear orthodontic aligners
How Is Invisalign® Different From Traditional Braces?
Invisalign® aligners are just as effective as traditional braces but better fit the needs and lifestyle of modern patients. Each aligner is made of a clear plastic, making it almost invisible while being worn. Even your friends and family won’t know that you are undergoing treatment! Because they are non-fixed appliances, they can also be removed for eating or drinking. Patients can also remove the appliances for cleaning or sports activities. Instead of using metal wires and braces, Invisalign is made of a customizable plastic. These are less irritating on the gums and soft tissues of the mouth, which makes them more comfortable to wear. How Does Invisalign® Work?
With Invisalign, our dentist can fix a wide range of dental and orthodontic problems, from large gapping and spacing issues to misaligned bites and over-crowded teeth. Come in for an orthodontic consultation, and All Dental & Braces and Cosmetic Dentistry can help you come up with a treatment plan that fits your needs.
When you come in for your Invisalign consultation, our dentist will first take images and impressions of your teeth, jaws and other facial features. From these, we will then be able to plan your treatment and the movement of your teeth. Depending on the results of this plan, a number of clear aligners will be designed and made for you. Each aligner is made of a comfortable plastic that will fit over your teeth. These are removeable and can be taken out for eating and cleaning. Our office will also schedule an appointment with you every six months to check up on your progress.
How Long Will I Have to Wear Invisalign®?
Though every patient is different, adult treatment typically lasts about one year. Treatment for teenagers will vary more, though the treatment time is comparable to that of braces. For the best results, wear the aligners as much as possible, for 20 to 22 hours a day. This will help guide your teeth into place more quickly. After your Invisalign treatment, our dentist may also recommend a retainer to keep your smile in place.

What About Special Occasions or Playing Sports?
Though we encourage patients to wear their aligners as much as possible, they can be removed for an event or while playing sports. With Invisalign, players don’t have to worry about metal brackets or wires accidentally cutting their mouth or gums. For contact sports, patients can replace their Invisalign aligner with a mouthguard.
