As a fixed dental bridge is bonded into place, it can only be removed by a dental professional. As the name implies, removable dental bridges can be taken out to be cleaned. Fixed dental bridges can offer more stability than removable dentures.

Placing a dental bridge takes up to two appointments at All Dental & Braces and Cosmetic Dentistry. During the first appointment, the teeth on either side of the missing tooth are shaped to allow room for the dental bridge.

Dr. Singh will take impressions of your teeth so that your dental bridge can be constructed specifically for your smile.

Once your dental bridge is ready, it will typically be cemented to the natural teeth on either side of the gap. The pontic, or false tooth, replaces the missing tooth. Dental crowns are cemented onto the natural teeth surrounding the gap to support the dental bridge.

Care for your new dental bridge as you would your natural teeth. Brush twice daily and floss once daily to keep your bridge and surrounding teeth clean. This is very important, as the bridge relies on the health of the neighboring teeth for support.
